A few nude sketches from Kroeber Hall workshop

I haven't had too many opportunities to do life drawings of nude models, what with my schedule and the limited amounts of such workshops convenient to me.  These are a few I did at the Friday night life drawing workshop on the UC Berkeley campus:

Animal drawing at the Oakland Zoo

It's been a while since I've posted any updates, so I though I'd share some recent sketches I did on my visits to the Oakland Zoo.  While it's overlooked by a lot of people, I say the Oakland Zoo is the best one in the Bay Area, and it's especially cool for drawing tigers and elephants, with up-close enclosures that give you some great views.  Plus, they've got a great Bat House, which is always a plus in my book!

Ready for my first Big Wow Convention!

Next weekend is pretty exciting for me, as it will be both a new experience and a return to the familiar, as I exhibit for the first time at San Jose's Big Wow ComicFest! It's be a while since I've been on the convention floor, so it feels good to get ready for a return to showing and selling my stuff.  I will be sharing my table with my good friend Daria Drozdzal, who will be selling her artistic creations as well.

This convention will also be the first time I offer for sale my first published children's book, Homer's Big Adventure!

I illustrated author Rosemary Parker's sweet tale of her carved wooden Alaskan bear's "true life adventure" through the woods on a dark and windy night!  The book is also available online at: http://bookstore.xlibris.com/Products/SKU-0109928037/Homers-Big-Adventure.aspx

We'll be at Table Number 721I (eye)  Stop by anytime on Saturday May 17th or Sunday May 18th, and either Daria or I (or often both of us) will be there.  Hope to see you all there next weekend!

My first children's book illustration is complete!

For much of this year, I've been working on my first commissioned children's book illustration.  I recently completed the book and it has now been published!

Author Rosemary Parker has written a quirky and charming story of a carved wooden bear who finds himself on a surprise journey away from the familiar.

At last, Homer's Big Adventure makes it's debut!

Homer's Big Adventure is available for sale at Xlibris.com:

http://bookstore.xlibris.com/Products/SKU-0109928037/Homers-BigAdventure.aspx

Homer's story is fun for parents and little ones to read together, and makes a cute Christmas gift!  I'll have it for sale at my next comic convention appearance, but in the meantime it's available exclusively through Xlibris.  Check it out!

Roadfood Rush Game Art - Buildables, NPC and UI Assets

I've completed the remaining elements of my retro-futuristic game concept, Roadfood Rush!

Below I've posted various restaurants the player can choose as they build their business, as well as a four-stage "buildable" of the same restaurant from its intial stage to fully expanded version.

Creating the art for this project has been a lot of fun and a great chance to explore my design side, not to mention indulge in my love of Googie-influenced architecture and old school diner/coffee shop culture!  Enjoy!

Secret and ancient origins!

In the spirit of the various ancient aliens/hidden history/bunk shows that are all the rage these days, I reveal to you now the true, hidden origins of our government propaganda mascots!

Thanks to the diligent efforts of a noble few, facing the mockery and derision of "conventional" historians, we now know the TRUTH!

Character lineup for my mobile game concept

I've wrapped up the character designs for my mobile game project.  The following are two waitresses and the manager for the restaurants that the player builds from roadside shack to majestic googie coffee shop!

I'll be posting more from the game as I bring the art assets to the final stage.  Til' then...
